The whole building, from the foundations to the rooftop, is all pure history. The walls themselves, the wooden beams, the floor, the fabrics. The shutters and the doors ... every element radiates a unique quality that nowhere else can imitate, the result of centuries of existence, the fruit of the patient and steady passage of time. Many things disappear as time ebbs away in hours, weeks and years – and what is left behind is all the more precious.

Somür was built by hand, making every element unique. In this establishment your stay will be spent in a way that simply cannot be repeated. Somür has a very special quality that is immeasurable and also barely describable. Instead it has to be experienced. Immerse yourself in this atmosphere, feel and sense it, let it penetrate deep into your soul.

Somür is located right next to the church and the cemetery in the village of Marebbe. The bells ring as early as seven in the morning, waking you from a restful night’s sleep. On the first floor of Somür there is a spacious living room, which is used as a common room and houses a small library as well as one of the four apartments. There are also two apartments on the second floor and the fourth, "Sotletet", is in the attic.

There are many drawings and words engraved in the wood grain, and even some faces. Black burn marks in the wall panelling remind you of the times when candlelight was the only thing that could brighten the evenings and nights. Somür features another strange curiosity – wisdom teeth that were pushed into the wooden beams and wall panelling. According to ancient tradition, this pagan ritual promised health and prosperity. Today it shows us how superstition dominated people's lives.

The Willeit family has awakened this Sleeping Beauty, which has stood near the church and cemetery in Marebbe from the very beginning, from its slumbers and is now bringing it fully back to life.

The present is the future’s past.
