Hidden away and unassuming, a true gem named Ciasa Somür stands in the middle of the mountain village of Marebbe, near San Vigilio in South Tyrol. The building dates back to 1296 and its name has a mystical quality. It derives from the rare Ladin language spoken in Val Badia. Somür is a Romanesque house in the shape of a mushroom. In the 13th century, houses in the Ladin area were typically built in this shape. Its walls alone tell us a wonderful story. To stay in Somür is to make a journey twofold. Firstly, because you are travelling back in time. And secondly, you’ll discover a unique landscape at the heart of the Dolomites.

Plan de Corones is just around the corner, as is the legendary "Erta" World Cup ski slope, which is also considered one of the “Black Five” due to its steepness. The Gran Risa piste in Alta Badia is just a few minutes away from Somür and Marebbe. The village is as popular for its ski slopes as for the exciting, almost magical hik ing trai ls in the Fanes-Senes-Braies and Puez Odle Nature Parks beneath the summits of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site.

Our four apartments with their beautiful Ladin names combine the benefits of home and a hotel in one. They all have features from bygone days when people had to build their homes by hand. A stay in Ciasa Somür means staying in one of the oldest buildings in the entire Val Badia, which stretches from the small town of Brunico in Val Pusteria to Corvara, from San Ćiascian (San Cassiano) to la Ila (La Villa). At the same time, you will also find yourself in one of the most beautiful villages in Italy: Marebbe was recently awarded the title of "Borghetti più belli d'Italia".

For ten years, the Willeit family has been renovating the 800-year-old "Somür" building. In the process, the team of four has discovered not only old walls and other treasures, but also a new passion! They have created four apartments covering the three spacious floors of the old building whose sparkling atmosphere deeply touches all who stay there.
